Those classic guns are so sexy. Love the Lever action rifles.

Couldn't agree more... This is my favorite... 44-40 WCF.

My second favorite is my 1866 in 45 Colt

Did you find a fix? I just shot mine (won at a raffle) and want to throw it away. My S&W Shield is in no danger of being replaced for EDC duty.

1. Buy different, high quality FMJ Round Nose ammo
2. Field Strip and clean, clean, clean.
3. Examine the magazine and the the feed surfaces.
4. Lubricate Appropriately. Do not drown the firearm in oil
5. Hand cycle handgun 500 time to loose it up.
6. Go to range to test new ammo.
7. Do not limp wrist the gun. Hold it like you are pissed off at it and want to hurt it.

If that doesn't work, send it back. If it doesn't work after that, sell it and buy something else.

BTW, the LCPII is infamous for jamming.

Here is another thread on that firearm:

I haven't messed with it anymore. Need to get it out to the range again.

Thanks Gents. I'll be trading it in next week. I cleaned the gun thoroughly and lubticated as directed by Ruger. Tried Hornady, Fiocchi, Remington, Federal, and some handloads. The mag looked good and I hand cycled +250 times. No pattern in jamming. I only made it through one mag without jamming out of about 30mags shot. I increased grip pressure after the first 3 mags to no avail.
Not a good showing for an EDC.

How was it jamming? Mine would fail to extract the spent casing (extractor would not release it) and then the slide would ram it into the next round.

I would say it was a pretty even mix. Every 2nd or third shot was either a failure to extract or failure to feed. One time the mag came loose. Glad I won the gun and didn't purchase it.

Oh man I think I spot a Sig P210 in there! Awesome! Also looks like a VZ58 in there. A nice collection there!

The P210 is my favourite range pistol so far, was hitting the 100M gong with it on the range day pictured; and yes, good eye, it's a CSA version of the VZ58 there on the left too. We had some tannerite targets set up at 200M for that group.
