Has anyone else been having problems with the google chrome browser? I have what seems to be a virus that has inserted itself into my chrome browser. After scanning with multiple tools and attempting to restore to an earlier date (which failed) I couldn't get it fixed so I uninstalled it. I downloaded and installed chrome again and everything worked fine. I signed into chrome and it brought back all of my previous settings as well as the "virus" or whatever it is. Im not looking to go back to firefox or any other browser. Any help would be appreciated especially any "how to fix"details. Thanks in advance.

You need to clear your extensions in chrome from anything suspicious, as well as redo the uninstallation of the malware.

What he said. I have seen were my wife goes to sites and comes back with tons of new extensions I have to remove and then run Malwarebytes to clean it all up.

You tried to restore your computer to an earlier date? Did you try resetting the browser? Settings-show advanced settings-reset browser settings. Whenever I run into malware or a wonky browser that's the first thing I do in chrome(or IE). And like VerySneaky said, get rid of all the extensions, reset the browser, and then re-run malwarebytes or whatever again to make sure.

Another thing to look at is if the malware has set your default home page, or a tab, to a malicious website; remove/change that.

Sounds like whatever anti-malware software you're using didn't find any malware. Which anti-malware products did you use? Did you use Malwarebytes? If not, it's a free download and worth using. #1 advice is getting rid of any and all extensions, as recommended by others.

+1 Extensions bring all that crap and wont be detected. They are very easy and simple to get rid of.
