There's a lot of things that suck about getting old. Waking up in the middle of the night to pee or regularly forgetting where you put something like the car keys. However there are some benefits too! Just got my renewal for the insurance on the ZO6. $220.00 for 6 months full coverage with $0 deductible. :D

$220 for six...can't complain about that! I was happy when I switched insurance companies and cut my Cobra tab in half. ~$600/year. Riddle me this, however: gf was paying $139/month for her Fiesta ST so we put it under my name (she's 25, I'm 35) and it's still $100/month. Scammers I tell ya!

U.M., what company are you using? I'm paying (with a clean record) $171 a month for my '19 Genesis G70 and my wife's '19 Hyundai Kona with USAA. I think I have a $500 deductible.

I won’t even go into how badly I was getting molested insuring the Shelby about 7 months a year.

Switched companies and nearly halved it.

Not shopping around every two years or so is doing yourself a disservice.

Hey Bob, this is CT where everything is ridiculously expensive, especially auto insurance. The cost will also depend a lot on how much liability coverage you have as well but $171/month sounds high even for CT if you have a clean record.

Thanks for the reply, Jon. I think I going to check around for other prices. I have my home insurance with USAA, so that supposedly gives me an auto discount. We'll soon see.

I am on the fence about dumping USAA myself. I have been having issues with my account for ages and I've had to go elsewhere for my last 2 auto loans because the interest was almost double what I could get from a credit union. The really bad part is both my wife and I have high 700 credit scores and a low debt to income ratio.

Been with State farm for 20 years Bob. I know lots of people who have horror stories about State Farm, but they've handled every car & home claim I've made no questions asked so I can't complain.

I had to go back and look at my Sig pic to be sure, but it's an '09. Yep 11 years old now with 60K on her and a fresh Katech top end. :D

Remember, one of the main benefits of getting old is simply getting old. It's an experience not everyone will have so enjoy it!

I also have state farm, living outside of Philly, and my recent bill was $317/6 months for my 14' F150, same coverage as you. I'm 35 and I feel the same way as you. I paid $650/6 months at 23 years old living in the same house for my 08' Mini.

Getting older has a lot of perks! Enjoy the Z!

Try doing one of the side by side car insurance comparison sites and it will tell you if your rates are high or where they fall. Either thezebra.com or gabi.com will get that done. For me in NJ when I punched my insurance coverage in on my 3 cars out of all the companies who sell in NJ my rates from Allstate were lower than the others. Plus I am old as dirt which helps.

I had State Farm here in NJ for 20 plus years and they were great but their rates just kept getting higher and higher. Plus they would give discounts to new members and keep raising the existing members rates which most companies do anyway. That is why some recommend to change insurance every few years to keep premiums down. I had Liberty Mutual for 3 years and they were not so great.

Here in Jersey, everything is ridiculous. We pay $240 a month for 3 cars. Allstate, cheapest around and threw the home owners policy on there too and saved more lol. My mustang I use American Collectors.
