I need one more to get ready EGR or catylst ...and I tried like hell today to get one turn on ...anyone one have any ideas? IM avoiding taking a trip to see Pete so he can get it ready .
I went thru this issue a year or so ago back. For me to get it going I took a trip down route 3 from marshfield to plymouth 2x. I also needed to get my evap system going as well. Needed fuel between 1\2 and 3\4 at all times and some steady 65-70 mph with no traffic.
Novi funny you say that I did plymouth to Braintree at a steady 70 round trip and still nothing im going to head back out tonight again when roads are dead an try it's so boring lol
The best way to do it, from my expierience. Have about 3/4 of a tank, and just drive. Better more so on the highway. Set cruise control somewhere around 2000 rpm and don't let it vary too much, best to keep it within ~150rpm.
I re flashed my tune at the track, drove with cruise control for about 30 miles, every monitor cleared.
Just an update I gave up around 1200 miles of the driving 70 @2k rpms ! So far a total of 1900 miles and still not ready ...it's almost like a game now to me to see how long it will go before being ready
I had a dead battery when I took my cobra out of storage this year and drove it for a while before I tried to get a sticker in May and it failed because of EGR and Cats. I drove my car a TON and finally a long trip out to Western MA on RT. 202 did the trick and got the EGR to show "Ready". I stayed around 45-55 MPH the entire time and around 2000 RPM.
