I wasn't going to post up this video since it came out like crap, but then I found out the dude was makling a stink about the race after, so I changed my mind.
The car has been cruising around this area for a couple years now, but I've never seen it race anyone (he might have raced, I just never saw or heardabout it). As of at least last year the car was cammed, but a couple weeks ago my brother ran into him and asked if he'd be interested in racing my G8. The guy said he would be down for a run, but he had blown his motor and he had to wait until his new motor was broken in. He said that it's a stock LS3 with bolt-ons at this point.
Fast forward to last night, we're grabbing some food and the same car pulls in, so my brother asks him if he's ready for a run and the guy says he's down. I asked him what speed he wanted and he said a 20 mph, 1st gear roll. I agreed and we headed out, each with one passenger.
We lined up, I ended up starting slightly ahead, I honked, and it looked like I pulled him about 3 cars to 120 mph.
We pulled in after, shook hands, and he said he wants to get a cam back in it. I asked him if he spun at all and he said no. He said the car has headers and a cold air. I'm guessing it's tuned too, since it used to have the cam. We ended up talking for 10-15 minutes, all friendly. At no point did he say he had a problem with the race.
Fast forward a few hours, my friend ends up talking to him and asks about the race and the guy says I started in front and jumped him. They also claimed I had head work, so whoever broke into my garage and ported my heads, please come forward :lol1:
As soon as I heard this, I told them to tell the guy I'd rematch him immediately, making sure we were even, and he could honk. He declined, apparently saying he wasn't interested in a rematch and he was just racing for fun.
