Does anybody have any information about upcoming Ford engines?

I've heard about a 2nd generation modular codenamed the "Hurricane" does anyone know anything about that?

Also, what about the 6.4L V10, is it bored, stroked or what? I've also heard a rumor about ford building a modular based V12, has anyone else heard anything similar?

Like the 3 Litre Twin Turbo F40 putting out 480 hp. Some have found there is some replacement for displacement.

Ford has made prototype V10s and shelved them. 6.4L and a 351.

In the future I expect to see more valves, higher boost on blown vehicles, a better OE tune, and possibly more displacement, although with CAFE that may be a pipe dream. I hope they build larger blocks even if they don't have large displacement, so we can open them up a bit.

I would also like to see faster and higher reving engines. At least the NA engines. That can make up for a lack of peak power, to some extent.

I note the appearance of variable cam timeing, even in truck engines. This is very good for us.

I also heard some rumblings of a new family of modular engines...

The main difference being larger bores and bore spacing.... hence all new heads--$$$$

You can expect to see at least two intake valves.... for the forseeable future....(tumble ports work!!!)

I would think the variable cam timing thing would also be standard fare...(too many advantages to ditch it).....

The 3 valve set up is an inexpensive way to keep 2 intake valves... and variable cam timing .... with just one cam per head.

They are also much lighter than 4 valve heads...

And way more compact!!!

With the truck horsepower wars heating up.... Ford needs more displacement....

Bigger bores gives you that, plus unshrouds the valves...

If they want they can always do a low deck, short stroke, variable cam timing, turbo/super charged engine that would have massive power ...... over a "never before seen" super broad curve(range of RPM)...... and still get good fuel economy when off the loud pedal!!!

If they need massive low end torque they just do a high deck long stroke/long rod big inch "puller motor".... it wont be that great on fuel economy though... The variable thing would help it alot though!!!

I say ...... BRING EM!!!!

Jimmy

Have you seen the head on one of those? That V-8 they used in the 360 modena and also the earlier 355 was a 40 valve engine, 3 intake 2 exhaust, I have seen pictures of the combustion chambers and I must say it is a work of art, very clean and looks like there would be little turbulence in the flow:burnout:

No problem, I can't blame you for wanting a ferrari I wish before I die I will be able to take one out for a spin. I have always dreamed of owning a late 50's 250 GT California, but I know that will never happen unless I buy a freakin kit car:lol:
