LEMME SEE DAT EVO

Just added pics of most of them in previous post. Orig owner bought in Apr 03, just under 12K miles now. Still have ad from "newspaper"........ Only car I ever paid sticker for (they had 5 grand ADM on some of them, and that was 20 years ago).

Latest pic I have. First time with it on a road course (first time ever with a man trans).

Thanks!!

LTD was dad's baby, he passed right before COVID (@89).
Anyway we spent 14 years building and rebuilding it together.
Doubt I will ever part with it.

I have to also chuckle a little at the price of mods...
I want to go flex E85 on my 6sp/5.0 '19 GT...I already have a HP RTD flasher.
Lund wants $300 for tune, $250 for E85 and I'll need $200 worth of HP credits.
If I'm going to go that far, might as well do JLT intake $375 as well.
So $1125 for just a CAI & tune? (would be another $300 if I didn't have the RTD)

Although...power per $ is WAY higher than back in the day, when I was spending $450 for a "Hypertech chip" that did nothing & K&N intake...which did basically nothing.

I'm trying my hardest to find a couple clean fox body coupes. I'll just sit on them until I have cash to build or do something with them. Once all cars need to be EV the prices are going to sky rocket.

Locally there is a 1974 Gran Torino for sale. 55K actual miles (alleged) with a 351W and factory 4bbl. Looks to be in good shape. They want just over $20K for it.

Shit is coming out of the woodwork, currently we have an 82 Fiat Spyder, a 72 Mercedes and a 56 Thunderbird in the shop. I have seen more old cars coming into the shop in the last three years than I saw in the last twenty. We are not a restoration shop and we tell these guys up front that their shit won't be to factory spec. If they want to play that game they can spend their own time on the internet finding just the right hose clamps and factory hardware.

I'm in a market for another Z06 and I can't believe the market for used Corvettes these days. There are so many examples of clean, modded C5Z's that are starting at $25k and go north of $35k! I sold my clean 40k mile built C6Z a few years back for $32k. WTF happened??

I'm in the market for a 84-86 SVO Mustang and it really does surprise me that there are a few below $20,000 and average about 75,000 miles. I was thinking just like with everything else they would be around $30,000 and even higher.

It's the aftermarket prices that are killing me. I'm in the middle of replacing an engine in a 01 Cobra and thought I would do cams, long tubes while I have it apart. Those two things alone cost more than the car is worth.

The price of a turbo back exhaust for a diesel truck, if you can find one, has doubled. Expect to pay $700-900 for 409SS.

I think 30 for a clean c5z is a steal, personally.

In hindsight low 30s for a nice c6z was retarded. These should trade 60s all day long. They stickered for 90.

That was the market pre covid. Hell, I paid only $30k for it. C5Z's were listed mid 20s. Now, boomers are listing their C5 coupes for mid-20k, which is insane. Even C7Zs could be had for low 60s
