How tight should the o-ring AN fittings be? I always understood that you shouldn't overtighten these types of fittings because you'll crush the o-ring and it won't seal properly. However, they don't feel very snug unless I tighten them almost all of the way. When doing this and installing the hose, the fitting is moving (loosening/tightening) on its own as I move the hose around.

How tight are people making these fittings?

The parts are cut to accept the orings. So you won't cut them or mess up the seal. I always fully tighten them. I also use 2 wrenches so that I hold the oring fitting while I tighten the hose end

Awesome, thanks. I'll get them tightened up and will continue with the install.

I try to put a dab of oil on the oring before assembly to prevent tear while tightening.

Definitely fully tightened. I had one not tight and E85 started spraying out a hood vent. That was quite exciting!

Agree on the oil. They typically come with grease already applied but if there isn't enough or none, I use a dab of oil as well and sometimes as it seals I will work it back and forth a little
