So good news.....Ford will be covering the trade in difference.

Crappy news.....called Navy Federal to see what I needed from Ford to get the ball rolling and they told me it has to be the same model year. No where in their requirements they sent to me mentioned that. So I now need to apply for a new loan to replace my 9 month old loan for the same exact vehicle, but one year newer.

Well, my wife was excited when I told her that this was a slight possibility; we do like the new front bumper and the quad exhaust could grow on us.

But....the trade difference offer would expire before the next several months when 2018s would hit the lot. Since our grievances were handled as a safety issue (which they were), we couldn’t really push back and say that we would hold onto it for a few more months in order to get a 2018.

So, just to update the thread for those who may find themselves in a similar predicament in the future, we now have a new 2017 Platinum sitting in our driveway. Ford covered the negative equity and I got a new loan.
