I was skeptical about the new Taurus SHO but damn I LOVE this car. I think it looks great and the first test prove that it is pretty fast too. Faster than predicted. Even fuel economy is good at 19mpg. It is a heavy pig though (4400lbs) All in all very good job Ford!

I agree with the C&D writer, this car should've never been produced, they should've come out with an SVT or SHO Fusion.

I wanna see what one runs with the track pack...they have a more aggressive ECU tune. But drop it about 1.5in's some nice 19in lightweight wheels, some exhaust work and up the boost...would be pretty kickass...aso with it was offered with a 6spd manual. Imagine what that engine would run in a 3400lb stang!

A 2010 Gt 5spd loaded without the glass roof is about 3600lbs. The lighter v6,minus a few weight saving mods, ditch the factory 19, and run some basic 17's.ditch a few other small items and it wouldnt be all that hard to get a v6 stang in at 3400lbs

Should have been put in the fusion, hope that motor responds to mods as good as the twin turbo 6 from bmw.

Did you notice the the MT article:

That's because this over-testosteroned beast desperately wants to make way more than 350 pound-feet, but the powertrain controller reins it in as early as 1500 rpm to protect the driveline and maintains 350 to 5000 rpm (that peak rev range narrows under extreme conditions)

This makes me think there are significant gains to be made on the motor itself with very minor modifications.

If that's true, this engine is just begging to be put into a dedicated performance platform.
