I owned a 94 and and 04. I have a ton of fun memories with them but fuel efficiency isn't one of them.

I had an 02 Ranger edge with the 3L v6 auto. I got around 18mpg. It was a great truck.

I currently daily a 06 b2300 with the 2.3L and 5 speed manual. I get 25-26mph. 27 if it's raining and i take it slower for a day or two. I filled up every 3 days for work. The speed limit most of the way is 70 so i do 65-73mph. I dont have cruise control. I dont see how some are getting 30 mpg. Maybe i need new plugs or an air filter.

I would not buy/own a v6 ranger due to the crap mpg having to drive nearly 100miles per day.

I had a 98 and an 02, both 4.0 (one OHV and the other SOHC). The 98 was a regular cab long bed 4x4 with 3.73 gears, it would average 20MPG. The 02 was the original FX4, it would average 18MPG and occasionally break 20. Both had M5OD-R1 trans.

I don't know how much power my 2007 F150 is supposed to have. I just know it feels like it has about 150hp. Add in the stellar 14mpg city, and it's such a joy to own! *rolleyes*

But, it's paid for, which is a big plus.

I calculate every tank...

I'm getting 29-31 right now on summer gas with about 75% of my commute being highway. In the winter my mileage drops to 25-26mpg. FWIW, my plugs have 140K on them, but the truck runs like a dream so I'm leaving them for a while.

I calculate every tank too and mine runs fine as far as i know. But i do run shell regular which is up to 10% ethanol. I know with my lightning, i used to get around 2mpg more with fuel that didnt have any ethanol. I'm not calling BS on anyone, i just wish mine did that well.

I have a '96 standard cab, long bed, with the 2.3L, RWD, and manual 5 speed. As others have said it is gutless, but very reliable. My mileage has to be 15-17 mpg at best.
There's ~123K on the clock. Worthless in the snow unless you put at least 350 lbs in the back.

How in the heck are you guys getting so bad of mileage? My '92 2.9/5-speed SAS, 35's, 4.56 geared turd could pull off 16 mpg on my daily commute (60 mile round trip). Dropped a 302/C4 in and it went to shit... lol

For anyone with the 06 body style trucks(or similar a/c systems), are you guys able to adjust the a/c temperature when it's on max a/c? In my lightning i can, but in my 06 b2300 if it's on max a/c, it blows ice cold even if i turn the knob all the way on heat. If it's on regular a/c and pulls outside air, the temp knob works as it should. It's always been like this since i've owned the truck.

edit* my heater works fine. Also every other a/c or heater mode works fine.
