Got one good pass in at Gateway last Tuesday night. Took it easy first time out this year with a 6,500 rpm launch and struts set pretty stiff. Made a 9.78 @ 140.6 pass in 2,800 ft density altitude. 60-ft was a not-so-great 1.37 (1.30 is where should be), but didn't want to set it on stun first time out. Shifted at 8,800 (nosed it over on 1-2 shift, LOL). Smoke down track was from a little oil dripping onto header from breather.

Video is pretty good for those interested...

I made a change to a solid roller for this year. Was getting valve float at top of 4th gear with the hydraulic cam. The cam is not too aggressive but I am very happy with the way the car revs - pulls to 9,300 rpm without a hint of valve float. I had to export the data vs. mph and convert to rpm because we lost the tach signal during the solid tests for some reason. Hence the Excel plot. The solid cam plotted is basically the same specs as the hi-rev cam from last year. The middle curve is the hydraulic cam tested with the new shorter long tube headers. I have generated a comparison graph at the following link http://www.the-arnolds.net/Cobra/solid-vs-hirev-dyno-800.jpg

There is surely more left in the car, waiting for better weather to come along.
