Finally get the C6 Z06 back to the track

Finally !!!!!

First drag race event for me with the new setup. I've got a lot of relearning to due, as my "driver mod" skills are in some dire need of work...car revs considerably faster than before and I'm hitting the rev limiter. With a bit more seat time, I'll drop a good .2+ .

This was at Southwestern International Raceway in Tucson AZ...track elevation 3000+ . DA was 5300+ for our race, but still did OK for a striaght up N/A car :)

Katech valvetrain and cam, FAST 102, NW 102 tb, Halltech MF 102 cai, B&B headers, WCCH Stage 2 heads, and some E85 :thumbsup:

Was hoping me and Camper's 700+ RWHP GT500 were going to line up, but that damn 2nd gear lockout was getting in the way.

10.77 @ 129 is outstanding. Nice runs. And yeah, the time slips will get even better with more seat time. I love your Vette, Victor!

Very impressive! I would like to see that car run witha good DA. I wouldnt be surprised if it didnt go 10.20s @ 135/138. @ sea level.

Our drag racing season is just starting, but I don't have a roll bar in the car so getting track time without getting the boot may be more of a challenge since my home track (Speedworld) closed early this year. Firebird was really strict on the NHRA 11.50 rule, but they are under new management....maybe a slim chance, but doubtful. A number of us are thinking of heading out to Cali in February to get some sea level air.

Earlier this year, with just a cai, OEM ZR1 exhaust, and drag radials (stock tune), I hit a PB of 10.84@129 on a 1.53 60' at Speedworld with a DA of 900+......on a 68K mile original clutch LOL.Because of my cai, that put me in the bolt-on category for the C6 Z06 Fast List, where I hold the #10 position :)

Looking forward to seeing where I might end up with the new mods.

If your car is newer than 2008 I think the new rules allow 10.0 before cage. I "teenk" :shrug:

Me vs 2013 GT 5.0 auto with a Whipple, meth.....who knows what else. Don't know the power level, but it went 9.9@139 earlier this year (I think) .

what tire and size r u running?

For this race, I'm running my CCW C14's that are 18x11's (they are my fronts I use for road racing), with Hoosier 315/30/18's. I normally run a 17x9.5 C5 Z06 front wheel with Hoosier 275/40/17 or 315/35/17. :thumbsup:
