Hello all, I didn’t see a post on this after searching, but I apologize if this has been covered before. Anyhow, I need to run a remote oil filter on my new engine and am considering one of the reusable units such as that from Canton. I see others from companies such as Peterson Fluid Systems and now even MMR. At the end of the day, I want the best filtration to protect my engine.

Here’s a link to the Canton unit. Does anyone have any thoughts or experience with any of these? The Canton reusable filters are supposed to offer 8 microns filtration. Thanks in advance!

EDIT- I should have mentioned that the actual filter elements in many of these units are not reusable. The billet housing stays put and you replace the filter insert.

I was looking at supplemental filtration units for half ton diesel trucks a while back. The units I was looking at used disposable cartridges. Lots of feedback from users that they worked very well.
