Your the first person I have ever heard say that,my 2005 Hayabusa use to run half to 3/4's up,swapped over the ice and it never got above half and the fans never came on.

I ran it in my kx125, my rm250 and my yz250f and it worked mint. I dont remember actual numbers but according to my pro circuit heat tape the bikes did run cooler then with coolant/water mix.
