My engine is in need of a major rebuild, but instead I am thinking to go with a DSS Racing 4v 15cc 4.6 motor stroked to 5.0, rebuild my current heads: upgrade fuel system and convert to a ported eaton (for now!) cooling mods, and 4# lower pulley. Any feedback on this setup is much appreciated!!!:burnout:

My strong advice is this. Find a shop that is an all in one shop that REALLY knows what there doing. That way if God forbid that something happens when the motor is being tuned you wont have to go through the hassle of paying for the engine removal, bringing it back to the engine builder and then bringing it back to have it installed and then you will have to bring it to the tuner. I speak from experience. Now if you cant find an all in one shop then there are few good engine builders on this site that can help you. The build will depend on your budget. The cheap route will be a reman motor from Tousley Ford. They charge 4k for a complete long block with the updated heads. This price is with your motor as a core.

IMO if you plan on going with just a ported eaton, a fully built motor isn't necessary since the stock motors are forged. I'd say get an aluminator, and run the ported eaton setup. If you're just running a ported blower you'll just need a bap, injectors, and a maf over your current setup, a full fuel system isn't needed. If you plan on doing a port now to hold you off until you go twin screw, that's a different story.

Either way though, a 5.0 stroker with head work, and a port would be a badass set up

I have looked into aluminators, but I figure DSS charges 3650 for a 5.0 short block, that is a direct replacement to the 4.6...why not? More low end torque and i can run 9:1 compression which should work better with boost. Eventually I am going for a twin screw, hopefully in the next year...i mind as well get the supporting mods now rather than buying twice...

This is the Boss 5.0 correct? Not a 4.6 stroked to a 5.0 is it?

It is a 4.6 stroked to a 5.0...will a boss block fit with the same mounting points and stock hood?

Yes it will. everything bolt up the same. The stock heads, crank and rods will work as well. You will have to get different pistons.

..........he also gets an undersquare engine (which is a first for a mod motor :nonono:), he's not pulling the pistons out of the cylinders on a stroker at BDC while worsening the rod stroke ratio, beefier block, unshrouds the valves, upgraded coolant passages

What's not to like
