I was perusing eBay for parts and decided to purchase an EGR Restrictor due to what it says it does and cause it was $5.00;-):

"The EGR Restricator is used in place of your stock EGR gasket. The EGR Restrictor simply restricts the hot exhaust gases that flow through the EGR into the manifold/plenum. The EGR opens up on decelaration, and lets the hot gases go through, which causes heat on top of the engine, which causes loss of horsepower, but by replacing your stock EGR gasket with this Mr. Gasket EGR Restrictor reduces the hot air intake by about 85% .

By keeping the heat out of your intake plenum, you will add horsepower"

Check the two links:

Now I'm not expecting a big gain, or even any gain, but does anyone agree with the theory applied in reference to the heat, in the above explanation? I am running an O/R X so I figured no harm either way to emissions.

Thanks in advance

Well... Yep, they normaly comes out back of my car.

Alright you got me there, but what I meant was, that tube leading to the EGR is exhaust. When it hits that closed off gasket, I am curious what happens. I guess the tube just stays pressurized until you let off the gas and it is able to be scavenged out.

the EGR is not bad for your engine, nor is it bad for performance.

It actually helps decrease detonation and provides better gas mileage.

There is ZERO reason to restrict or delete it.

I am assuming you read the start of the thread and what it said about lowering the plenum temperature, etc.....

Someone just made a quick $5. I liken the claims to those of penis enlarging pills.

since you don't seem to have much understanding of what the egr actually does, I'll let it go. Your NA is not being hurt by the EGR one bit. Its a worthless and possibly detrimental mod.

enjoy.

EZ boss, just wanted to make sure you saw the start of the thread and the claims that were made. Lot of people chiming in on this and another thread just started tonight. Was kind of hoping you'd enlighten us a little with why it wouldn't or doesn't make a difference, but I'll let it go. I did my own research.
