Iam going to go with the novi beefcake special, Id 1000's,and the other suporting mods. My question is, will the stock pump and a boost a pump be enough with E85 or do you need to go with a return style fuel system? Wanting to get into the 9's.

Im on the stock pump with BAP and ID1000s. Youll be fine. if you start going north of 700 on E85 you may start to run out of pump.

you get to the edge on the stock pump. the 1000's and bap will def help,

the e85 makes a bunch more power, but uses more fuel to do it.

That seems very very High....

750 is about as far as we like to see the BAP and IDs go on GAS.

E85 requires about 30% more fuel so by my math that would put you at 525?

750 is about max imo too on gas, some cars don't get that much,

e85 uses more fuel, but, it also makes more power on the fuel its using

we've tuned a few of them, but typically close to 7000 they start running out of fuel

i know my personal car jumped about 200rwhp swapping to e85 with everything else being equal,

i usually recommend your guys 1400 hp fuel system for the guys wanting e85, the double 465's are the hot ticket, better safe than sorry

My car made 669/581 on E85 with ID1000s and BAP. AFR holds steady at .79 all the way to 7500. Seems like enough pump and injectors as of now.

So its correct to say that you are going to make more power with a race gas tune over an E85 tune with a stock pump and boost a pump?

No. You will make more power with E85.

Um not sure about this one? Cost per gallon yes E85 but it is not as high of an octane as say ms109 or shell urt! so Race gas while on that tune for that kind of fuel will make more power!

Unmmm. Better do some testing and research.

E85 will make more. Been there. Done that.

I have seen E85 make more than VP 109 and C16.

well if race gas vs e85, and OP wants a race gas tune than the Shell URT will out perform all other fuels out there! so to say it's better than all race gas is simply not true. Is it based off the dollar per gallon if it's availible in the users areas? than yea e85 all the way, but the URT is the best based off of just performance.

JLTs car on more boost and URT only made 10hp more and less torque than my car on 8.5psi and E85. Our cars are pretty much the same mod wise. I made 669/581 SAE and iirc his car was 679/550 SAE.

people all over are switching from race gas to e85 because of how well a car runs on it
you cant get a car to detonate on e85

I was running 9.99 with VPMS109 Unleaded Race gas, at the world finals in 2011.

We swapped to e85 for 2012, the car ran a 9.37 out of the gate.

That was pump E85.

E85 is basically alcohol. It run cooler, and it fights detonation more.

You can run more timing, and the car will def make more power than race gas.

So, how significant is the oil contamination when running E85? What, if any, are the long-term side effects? Is it just a matter of changing the oil more frequently, say 3-5K vs. 5-8K?
