How much additional power is a e85 conversion good for with the following mods:

VMP 67, upper pulley, off road x pipe, JLT 123.

thanks

You will pick up at least 50+whp with E85. But it's a little pricey to swith. You will need ID1300 injectors and a 20 volt BAP and it's a good idea to switch to a better flowing fuel filter, but that's not a necessity.

Also do your research on e85 compatible oils (basically Alcohol) that wont break down and cause a rotating assembly failure. I just did a write up in the the other gt500 section in regards to my rod bearings failing due to this exact issue. I was using 5w50 redline oil and only driven on weekends for short trips around town on E85. Basically you need to get the car up to temp often or moisture will get collected in the oil and ruin bearings (my cyl #1 bearing actually had rust on it). My oil had approx 2000 miles on it at the time of failure. Theres more to E85 than meets the eye...good thing i learned my lesson on a motor that was being built even better this winter anyways.

Thanks. Can you get away with a smaller injector? For example id 1000?

My best advice for that would be to talk to Lund or who ever your tuner is and see how they feel about that. You can probably get away with the ID1000s but you will quickly be maxed out for fuel. The ID1300s will support close to 850whp on E85 with your stock fuel system. I made the mistake of buying ID1000s and now if I want to run e85 I need 1300s.

Thanks for the information. What is the hp max on id1000? I don't think I can hit anywhere near 850 hp. I am around 680 whp now. Even if I do a lower pulley I think I wouldn't even hit 800.

You can do about 800whp with the 1000s. But I know Lund prefers the 1300s.

You will always want more not less it's best to just buy the 1300's the first time and be done with it. The id1300's can pick up some slack if you are close to maxing out your fuel pumps with a 20v BAP. To me e85 is a no brainer if it's available to you, especially for us 13/14 guys.

Use the 1300s. They're alt fuel compat. 1000s aren't. I use 1000's but will move up soon.

For your car: ID1300s. VMP Dual Fuel Pump Booster. Tune. Fuel. We make about 830 to the wheel on 13-14 cars with this.

I use it with great success….1100+ RWHP and 2.50 per gallon…you can't beat it……I only drove my car 300 street miles last year and raced it at the track 11 times…..I even stored it in my car trailer for 2 months at one point...zero issues with moisture and it certainly won't blow up your motor if everything else is ship shape….I run Amsoil 15w50 Dominator racing oil, but any good quality oil will work fine, just change it every 2K-3k miles and you should be fine….remember there are 100's of thousands of flex fuel cars running around that have zero issues with running E-85 and they aren't spinning bearings after 2500 miles even if they are driven only on the weekends around town.
