Appreciate it fellas. To answer some of your questions the motor is very expensive if bought from mb new, $70k. Same as the tranny, $15k new from mb. BUT, I just picked up a complete motor, everything for $6500 with 21000 miles on it. I also picked up a used tranny for $1500, so there are alot of options out there.

Airmatic used to be an issue, around $1200 a corner, but Arnott has come out with replacements for $400 a corner. Lastly, KW is now offering coilover conversion kits for $2500. I personally love the airmatic as you can raise the car 2-3" at the touch of a button, it is nice and soft, great for dragging.

Let me know if you have any more questions, i love converting mustang guys into e55's. We have quite a few now on mbworld along with lightning owners.

$70k for a E55 motor???:shrug: A Nissan GTR and '13 Shelby GT500 motor isn't even near $70k and they have expensive plasma coated cylinder liners

I know, when I heard the cost of the motors from the dealer, I burst out laughing:) To answer some of your questions, my car is sponsored by Buckhead-Imports Performance. They did the complete build on my E55, and have their own in house tuner with a Dynamics Dyno. They are actually in Smyrna off cumberland blvd.

Quite a few owners have lost power under the curve slightly before a re-tune, it is not uncommon. Hit me up via pm if you want any deals on parts for your buds E55. I do internet sales for BIP over on mbworld.org

As for my runs at WANNAGOFAST, I ran out of meth before I could get my runs in at the 1/2, but the best the car did was 147mph. Had zero traction in 1st and 2nd out the hole on 20's.

I miss my E63. With a growing family, I had to get an R63. Nice numbers. Love seeing fast sedans.

Nice numbers! I would love to have one of these as a DD...

Is that shop having another dyno like they did this time last year? I should be able to make it this time!

Engines are $40k from the dealer. I'm about to pickup an '06 CLS55, so I'll be in contact with you for parts soon.

How fast can you get one with minor bolts ons? Like pulley/tune? I don't know much about them. I saw times of 12.4@116 stock listed.

I am tempted to get one, it is between this and an E39 M5. Can you do a tune/pulley like a Cobra/GT500 or is it more complicated?

Yes, you can do either a blower pulley or crank pulley. The crank pulley yields way more gains, on a really conservative 172mm crank pulley and my shops tune, you are looking at 80rwhp/100rwtq with everything else been bone stock on the car.

Off course you can see that my car is modded to death, so if you do pick one up, hit me up via pm, and I will give you smoking deals on performance upgrades since you are a mustang boy:)

gained 15whp with meth on e85? i've always been under the impression that meth wasnt worth the $$ with e85. good to know. how is it being injected? did you do it just for lower iat's?

Yes, that is untuned, and for cooling only. It is positioned 8" form my IAT sensor. These cars generate so much heat, even with E85, it makes the Eaton blower look like an ice cold generator.
