I have a metric shit ton of DVD's and I'm wanting to buy an external HD and just try to have an electronic collection. Anyone have any experience doing this? What's the easiest way to go about it?
Thanks
Jerrad

All I will say is make sure you buy a huge hard drive. My buddy has done this also...

I use DVD Fab, pricey but so many options when ripping. You can rip to many different formats and can pick and choose what exactly you want to rip (main movie, special features, different audio tracks, etc...). Saves a lot of space when your collection is big.

Depends on how many you are trying to convert.

I would guess each dvd is about 5 GB. I think blue rays are ~50GB.

I'll let you do the math on how big of a hard drive you need.
