Does your Cobra "tick" How long has it been ticking ??

How long has your terminator been ticking?
Mine has been ticking for 9500 miles and shes been fullly modded since 300 miles on the odometer.

i have like 15500 and have alot of mods and race a good amount mine is fine but it was made in dec 02 so its one of the 1st ed so i was told that the tick in the earlyer made cobra does not do anything but late made and 04 tick is a prob which made no since but that is what i was told. sooooo hell if i no

I dont have any tick.. Car has 10,000 miles on it and is production number 2,088 so i would think this makes my car an early run cobra, but no problems yet

i have 24000mi and i've been pulley/chiped/intake/exhaust modded since 8. No problems yet.

What causes the tick? Does the tick effect performance, or more of an annoyance?

It's an annoyance and just that PERIOD. I have not seen any proof that the tick causes damage. Premature engine life now thats another story..

I had a loud tick at around 18,000 miles. It turned out to be the teflon wearing off one of my pistons. A .020 hone and some JE's and everything is better that new.

I had a Tick, but I'm not sure if it is the same Tick that you guys are refering to. My Tick started just after I bought my car and sounded like it was coming from under the Passenger Side Valve Cover. When I started my car in the morning it sounded like I had a Exhaust Leak or a Noisy Valve (Tap Tap Tap Tap). I took it into the Dealer and they fixed it by "Re-Torqueing the Cam Followers" this is what the Service Manager told me when I picked it up. I've got over 20,000 on it now and it's never Ticked again, and it runs as smooth as ever.

My 03 (7500 miles, 7,000 modded) never had a tick. My 04 (7500 miles, intake exhaust) no tick.

I bought mine in December of '02 and sold it in July of this year. Just under 10,000 miles. Never had any sign of tick.
