Took the plunge and made an upgrade this week...

Went from this....

The old plow served me well, but it was time to replace it. The new one is a Fisher stainless xtreme-v, and should help with productivity once I get the hang of using it.

Money maker. Depending on the location and how bad the winter is, those things can pay for the trucks that carry them.

I sure hope it makes some money. Depending on how you bid, you either want it to snow lots, or pray that it doesn't. I do this as a side job, and believe it or not, I really enjoy getting out in the truck by myself to work and think. As long as I cover my time, expenses, and maintenance I'm happy.

You would need heavy equipment to do something like that. Usually it's only the rural municipalities that contract out snow work.

The money is in parking lots.

True, but there is a big investment in large lots too. You can't touch anything large (Lowes, Home Depot, Walmart) around here unless you're carrying at least 5 mil in liability coverage.

Well, I did have a run-in with a Sunfire earlier this year....
