Detonation Question

What are the signs of it? It seems when I get in the Higher rpms it seems to bog out/loss of power? I never had this problem before. Should I get replace the plugs?

My car started by falling on its face at 140 mph. Then it started falling on its face at 120. Motor started to knock a little bit. Tore it apart, melted mistons

You can hear Pinging and you will know when you hear it and what it is...Let out of it immediately. Fastest way to frigg up your motor.

Yeah, detonation is a pretty distinct sound. Sometimes it can be hard to hear...

I try to tell people to listen for injector noise, it's like that... but a little more "pingy" and sounds similar but disctinctly different than injectors...

There's videos online, of detonation. Sometimes it can be very hard to detect though, especially with a loud car.

I read on another thread that you can pull a plug and under 30x magnification tell from the spark plugs if you've had any detonation... might be worth it to see if you were pinging at all!
