what's the space coming out of the second floor going to be used for? having columns coming down like that might look a little weird.
I think he's talking about the little overhang/porch area by the door :shrug:What are you talking about?
I like the look, and it allows a place for the delivery guy to bring car parts without the wife knowing.
Where I live we have a whole house humidifier to keep it at 40-45%.air conditioning is nice if you can swing it. if not, look into a dehumidifier, that in itself will make a huge difference. Just dropping the humidity to 40-45% helps. Not to mention, is better to store nice toys in. I leave my dehumidifer run all of the time and turn the AC on when I'm working (or drinking). But, I only have 800 sq.ft to deal with, you have a lot more. that can alwys be added later too. Relative humidity levels around 45% will keep bare metal from rusting.
I'd put drains in too. **** the city, install drain half inch below finished concrete, break concrete and install cover after final inspection. We had drains in the garage so there was no standing water - it was really nice. Also liked that it was positioned so the bays weren't visible from the road.

that's a porch?
Yes, there will be concrete under it, it wraps around to both sides.
