With winter storage knocking at the door, it will be required to connect our battery tenders. Looking under the hood, it is not as easy as connecting the battery tender directly onto the battery terminals, as the battery is encased. I called the local service manager for advice. He said remove the positive wire coming from the battery in the fuse box, and connect the positive lead of the tender to this wire, with the negative lead on an adjacent ground point. Accomplishing this action would result in losing vehicle presets. How would you guys connect the battery tender?
Thanks

My advice is to pull the battery and charge it away from flammables. Keep it simple, keep it safe.

i've stored batteries all winter, never once used a tender, always get 6-7 years out of them. As long as it's room temp, it does not need to be on a tender. 6 months sitting idle is nothing.
