New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo has started discussions with the State Legislature about new gun control measures, focusing on changing state laws restricting the possession of semi-automatic firearms and standard capacity ammunition magazines. He said, “Confiscation could be an option.”

BTW...He owns guns as well.....

Read the short article about his plans. Confiscation is being highly considered...

http://www.nytimes.com/2012/12/21/n...ll-outline-gun-measures-next-month.html?_r=5&

The NRA is posting all their follow up's on F/B so if you want to be kept up to date on whats happening hit "Like" on the NRA to get up to the minute data..

The NRA is on Meet The Press (CNBC) at 8:30est this morning as well to discus further options..

Looks like F/B is good for something after all.....

They won't confiscate anything. That would be a death wish. They're stupid but not that stupid. I'm expecting something similiar to the Clinton ban.

He doesn't state that confiscation is being "highly considered". He lists it as an option being considered, as well as two others including keeping your gun but requiring a permit. On the contrary, it is more likely that we would see permitting where you keep what you have but will be required by law to get a permit if you don't already have one. Confiscation IMO is very unlikely as it will be too unpopular and controversial. I think the major focus will be on shoring up the holes in the existing laws.

"In the interview, Mr. Cuomo did not offer specifics about the measures he might propose, but, while discussing assault weapons, he said: “Confiscation could be an option. Mandatory sale to the state could be an option. Permitting could be an option — keep your gun but permit it.”

Sorry, but he can stick all those options up his ass.

You will NOT confiscate my weapons or make me sell them to the state and I will NOT get a permit.

Up yours Cuomo.

Just how far do they think they can push the American gun owner?

Any politician from New York is about as worthless as any politician from Chicago. They should all learn to shut their mouths because this socialist agenda isn't flying in America.

I would like to see them try it in this country...I know only New York is discussing this as option now, just hope that option is really never on the table.

The NRA is already gearing up for this fight. I live in NY and all the BS we have instilled already on the type of gun we can buy is already over the top. Cuomo will get nowhere with this. I went yesterday to pick up a shotgun I ordered a few weeks back and the amount of people looking for AR style weapons was crazy. Not because of the demand but because of the people looking for them. Most people had never handled a gun before but now that a right might be taken away they want it. That in itself should be a wake up call for the local and natl govt to leave it alone. I will say this I own 2 different calibered ar rifles and nobody will take them from me ....... this is my right I choose to use it I pay my taxes 3 fold and have no criminal background. I forgot what year but in NJ they tried this once and it was a failure. Out of something like 200k assault rifles 2000 were turned in even though it was a felony to own one.

If you do not belong to the NRA,a gun club,or a forum now is a good time to join and see what's really goin on.

+ 1

confiscation would be impossible to enforce :nono:

all existing assault rifles and HIGH capacity mags will be granfathered in to another Clinton era type ban that will be permanent this time with no end date. also the heat will come down on the manufactures. they will no longer be able to manufacture or sell any mag over 10 rounds....

it's a good thing that i am stockpiled to the MAX. my battery of machine guns, .50 calibers, assault rifles and HIGH cap drums and mags has doubled in value over the last week.

i currently own 29 guns, 65 HIGH capacity drums and mags that hold up to 100 rounds each and 12,000 rounds of ammo  all of this is worth $100,000+ :coolman:

They would be easy to zero-in on  The UN could also be a good source for new AR rifles....never fired and dropped only once!

I dont know why...but I am worried about this one...I go this uneasy feeling....

Adam sure stirred up the pot and eveyone is paying attention now and it seems more are opposed then in prior years

Its funny....all the anti gun advocats are all up north...right where most of the trouble always seems to occur..They seem to forget the stories about the good guns have done...One of the top of my head was here in Georgia where the gentleman saw a womans car being rammed followed by a perp and a by stander shot the perp and saved the lady from death...I dont remeber the entire story anymore but this and other good deeds have gone hush hush...

I hope you are right Cobra Bob.....Hopefully they do seal up some of the holes that can leave the gun owner in jeporady

I think it's time for me to "bite the bullet" and buy the Barrett CCQB short barrel that I have always wanted. But I would really like to get it in 416 instead of 50cal. But I really don't want to spend 14K on one rifle. Especially with the stock market preparing to tank.

If they try confiscating anything, my wife and I are moving of state. NY and Gov. Cuomo can go to hell.

I should have stayed in TX...
