My son and I got a couple of projects completed on the Cobra today.

Plasti-dipped the I/C tank. I got tired of polishing it!

Did you remove the IC tank or just tape up everything around it real well?

Yes I removed it and also removed the ring where the cap fits and cleaned that up too. It looks so much better. I plan on getting the black radiator tank to match it.

I/C tank does indeed look better black. The 99/01 tails were one of my favorite mods I've done, yours look nice too.

Did you pull the needle on the overlay or just heat it up with hair dryer and slip it over and around the base of the needle?

All the mods look great!

The only way to do this is by removing the needle because there is a little tit on the back of the needle that stop it from going past 10 psi. If you did the overlay without removing the needle to cut it off, it wouldn't go past 10 psi.
