COCOA Oct Track day Willow Springs

Small group of us went to Oct COCOA Cobra Club trackday event at Willow Springs. I took my 2011 GT first time to the track see how it will do. It was good seeing an old track buddy and meet couple new ones. It was a great event and had some great company enjoy the weekend with.

It been awhile for me being on the track. This was my first time on the big track at willow and was driving a new car. I was little timid of the track but was up to speed on Sunday after Carlos and Mike let me follow them.

The car ran good as I was hoping it would. I really like how it handles . I like it in the stock form, Ford has done a good job. The brakes are great, good power, and was able to do 4 wheel drift with the traction control on. Very happy with it.

I had a 2011 V6 out at Big Willow in Sept... It was great. Almost unbelieveable how good it was for being stock and an automatic.

Whitemustang is a quick learner, he mostly learned the lines on saturday and was much quicker on sunday. His wife even helped us with tire pressures and tire temps.

I might have to rent another v6 or buy brake pads for My Cobra.

The RX7 should be running again in early Jan.

It's been a long time . I think been couple years when we ran at California. Sound like you had good day with the v6. I think it's only couple secs lower the 5.0 on that track. They both share the same suspension. You have RX7 now . You trader! You cross over to the dark side. LOL! That is a good well balance track car. I remember your Cobra is very clean car. It's hard to track a car nice. Anyhow hope get run with you again in the future.

Carlos, man your busy. Doing a lot track days. I will see if I can join you with in Dec. Thanks for posting the video. After viewing it the car nose dive to much look like and little twitty. I Look like a good reason to get some koni sport shocks and springs.

hey racebronco is that yours with a flat black spoiler? that looks so wicked. I really like the roof spoilers? (sorry dunno what they are called). Do you have 2 trunks, one with a r wing and one without?

Yea it has been about that long since we ran together out there. Your GT looks great.

The V6 was fun, but it would be a blast with the 6 speed stick, and an extra 100 HP.


The RX7 is not that dark.. I am putting an LS1 in it. Should be about 400 WHP and 2600 lbs. I'm pulling the rotary out this weekend.

That would work. :thumbsup: 1svtfan did you get another car. You have two Cobras.


The RX7 does sound like a good track car. No weight and a lot power. My white 5.0 only has 220 hp in 3000lbs car and it does good. The rx7 has more power and weigh less. For sure it will be a blast. You and Carlos would be a good match up.
