but i have a clunkihng noise when going into gear, downshifting, and into reverse, the noise is in the rearend. ive been told the bushings are trash and go bad quickly. any ideas?

possibly front and rear diff bushings...mine did that and i replaced them and it fixed my clunk.:beer:
is that the same as IRS bushings??
It's part of the IRS bushings. There's a lot of them back there. How bad is the clunk? The IRS is known to make some noise.
sometimes its pretty bad. and its when the gear engages right as i let out my clutch.
The rubber bushing splits open through time, I'd guess 50% of the 99-01's out there have at least one bad bushing in the IRS if it's stock untouced myself included! We're talking 10+ years..
