The new sti's are even faster than the previous yrs due to the larger turbo vf43 i believe...actually if you want to get technical its a larger wastegate. They have longer gears and make crazy torque with boltons now.

um that's incorrect. same turbo. same waste gate. longer gears (correct), better tuning. less weight.

Thing he was holding was probably a COBB tuner.

probably just an ebc.. you can't make any 'on the fly' changes with an access port, and you can just 'up the boost' with on either, without changing maps.
