clutch issues

So the other day i noticed every time i pushed in my clutch the car would make an extremely strange screeching noise,
the beat is like to pieces of metal intermittently rubbing against each other..scared me...took it to ford today and they aren't sure
won't know what it is until they pull the trans, ($525)

also had them check out my P0172 cel..dirty air filter
they also told me that im running NGK plugs and my car should "really only use
Motorcraft". What do you all think?
He also told me the stock plug gap is .052 and my plugs are gapped at .042...not knowing anything about plug gapping,
how bad is this?
is Motorcraft really the "only plug that should be used"?
what plugs do you recommend on a cammed 99 cobra?

Sounds like a Throw Out Bearing (TOB)...as far as the gap, how my Boost you running?? Stock may be 0.052", but the more boost you make you want to tighten the gap!! Mine are currently 0.032" with NGK TR-6 plugs

ok, talked to ford this afternoon and they said i need a new clutch, throw out bearing, and
flywheel...they quoted me almost $2000 for a ford racing clutch and flywheel, lol, I said no
and bought a spec stage 3 clutch kit and a spec aluminum flywheel.

any thoughts or comments on this combo?

spec 3+ clutch is the best clutch imo. others have different opinions, but I loved mine. very very streetable. The spec 3 is not as good as the spec 3+ though.
