Chicks dig the 5.0

I figured I would bring this up here... I took my fiancee to the auto show in Tampa to look at a few cars I am considering next year when I sell the CTS-V. We looked at the Camaro SS, the C6 Z06 (I'd be buying an 06-07), the new V2 CTS-V (09 up), and then finally the 2011 Mustang GT. Out of all the cars there, she actually liked the GT the best. I was surprised that she didnt like the Z06 over this, but she kept saying that whenever she sees the corvette she sees a guy in a mid-life crisis, and she couldn't tell much of a difference between the Z06 and the regular C6.

We then started talking about it, and I'm pretty sure that this summer we'll be ordering a new 5.0 in auto, and making it a weekend/track car (probably go with a procharger or the Roush blower). Cant wait!! :beer: Honestly I like the C6 Z06s, but I'm not in the financial standing to buy a newer, low mileage one, and for my $35k budget I think the 5.0, brand new, ordered exactly how I want it, is the best deal out there. Call me crazy, but I don't want to spend $35k on a 6 yr old, 30k mile Z06.

my wife hates the Z06 and corvettes. She prefers the mustang but likes the 05-09 body better

I actually traded in a 2009 vette for my 2011 5.0. While it wasn't a Z06 it had some mods and made about 425 to the wheels. But it rode like crap. I had a Z51 car which isn't even as stiff as a Z06 and I didn't like it. I bought my vette brand new and traded it in a year later with only 1600 miles on it. They are cool cars but I just don't like how they ride. The thing was fast though. Abouth the same power as my 5.0 right now, but 400 lbs less to drag around. Oh, and they look badass sitting in your garage...lol.

hard to get a bj while driving in a zo6. plus, i wouldnt wanna be grouped with the majority of z06 drivers. mid life crisis cause they now need a viagra to get a bj in the first place.

My wife loves the 2011 x5 more than the 03 cobra even though it has more power. I can't blame her overall the 2011 is just better even w a auto. When I get the d specs on the 11 be even better.

And btw Allgo the quickest 03 guy in the country beats on his s/c c6 zo6. Mid 10's 138 mph. Though he is not typical of most vette guys.

I went through that same dilemma about 4 months ago. I was actually dead set on getting a used z06 until the new 5.0 came out. Getting a BRAND NEW gt exactly how I wanted it just worked out better for me. The Z is better in just about all perf. categories but for the money I had the gt was just a much better deal. Plus its def. no slouch itself. I love it and still glad of my decision. GL.
