Car quit running, uggggghhhhh!!

I'm sure we have all learned this lesson the hard way at one time or the other, I know I have. First step should always be to check the most obvious areas, which often are also the cheapest the fix. Glad you found it before you pulled the tank and your car is now working.

So I dropped the tank to clean it, glad I did. Nasty. Bright Gatorade yellow, stunk and had bits of crap in it. About 2 cups. LOL. Yeah, I was empty!!
Checked the fuel level sender. It reads 8 ohms or so at empty but when I raise float I sometimes have to wiggle it to make it work. And then it's still erratic. I can eventually get to rest around 4 ohm when full. But if I wiggle the rod it goes all over the place.
So I am replacing my fuel pump after all.
