Yeah, they call them potato bugs here. They come out in the summer. Never seen one move very fast but they are intimidating because of their size, they're quite big. Some south of the border cultures assign mythical powers to them.
Like being able to get health care, monthly government checks, cell phones and vote in local elections. All without being citizens.

That's what it looks like to me. Looks to be identical. And they can bite.
