I need to top off my rear differential fluid so I can drive it so it can be resealed...can I fill it up without removing anything other than the bolt where you refill at?
Thanks
Thanks
Nothing needs to be removed but if I recall, you need to snake a hose up there. Been quite a few years
You must be leaking really bad or for a long time to need to top it off?
Back when I had an S197 I filled the diff by running a 5 foot or so length of plastic tubing from the fill hole across to the left wheel well then up to a funnel that I taped to the jack handle. Neat, tidy and easy - no pumping required.

That's exactly what I do. I have an antique Coleman lantern copper funnel that fits the plastic tube perfectly. It's slow, but effective.
Ahh... I thought it was an SRA. Sorry. An IRS diff is different indeed. I use a Mityvac 6410 transmission filler for the diff on my S550.access on a sra is a whole different ball game
Thx! ordering today..going to jack up the car and get it ready. I put on an irs brace yrs back so I'm guessing I didn't seal it good enough.
