Yes, the State Bar site will show you a smog history and whether or not you need to see a ref for your current smog check. That’s where I found out about mine.

Thank you for letting us know that. I was concerned that even though my current test shows me needing a basic smog I was destined for the Ref regardless. Like I stated before knowing this before hand will allow some of us to plan ahead of time.

Sorry that is what I was trying to convey. The site shows my 04 up for state ref even though it has passed smog legally since I have owned it. So now I need to find a 04 mid pipe to get the car back on the road... it was good for me to know before I went to waste the money on smogging the car.

Thanks for the explanation. That means something in your last smog caught their attention. I am guessing you have a tune so that would be my best bet since I/we learned the state can tell if a tune is in place.

Don't forget you can get away with an H-pipe from a GT, you don't have to get a cobra setup since they are the exact same.

My search ninjitsu leaves ambiguity on injectors... so from what I’m reading a Whipple with aftermarket injectors with all else swapped back to stock will still fail inspection/smog?

So Bama tunes supposedly will pass emissions and can accommodate FRPP fuel injectors. With a CARB EO Whipple, how would a returnless setup with stock pulley Whipple tuned car with cats not pass smog?

usually they dont care about injectors, or they dont know what they are looking at. mainly its the intake/SC/cats/headers they are looking at. my god I love AZ.

The car was tuned after it’s previous smog. The car had passed smog legally since it has been in my ownership.

That's very interesting. Are you sure it had the stock tune on it when it was last smogged?

I'd also question the ref about it.

I have always wondered if SCT sold some people down the river by disclosing their information when they bent over for the EPA. Maybe that is where some of these ref inspections are coming from.

That may be possible. I know for a fact it had the factory tune on it as I only used the tuner for data and the way the car functioned aka the fan speeds where factory.

Come on Steve! You and I both know these communist cocksuckers probably are!

I wouldn't be the least bit shocked to find out the state has the personal information of every person who has an sct tune via their vin numbers.

So Whipple’s CARB EO #D-231-30 states that the EO includes “ the supercharger, intake manifold, 160 degree thermostat, bypass valve, new air cleaner, fuel pump, mass air flow sensor, reflashed ECU, and a set of high flow injectors”.

Under the list of 50 or so models, the 2003/4 cobra mustang 4.6 is listed.

This EO letter with a CARB sticker will not suffice for a Ref?

I see ambiguity if you change the fuel rails and lines, throttle body, pulleys, but what am I missing?
