My buddy just bought an 02 zo6 with heads and cam package. The car put down 460 and 410 tq. He wants to race my tune and cai base GT 6m 3.73 from a 20 roll. I have to say I am a little worried. I had 2000 FRC with a tune and CAI and it ran very strong. My Stang went 11.69 with slicks and runners, but were racing from a roll. Thoughts.

He can drive. He had an 03 back in the day with vararam and DRs. Went 11.64 at 120 on a good air day. I am thinking this car should go bottom 11's with a tire.

He's making more power then you and weighs less, with a good driver, it won't be pretty for you. Plus, highway is a corvettes domain.

What is everyones thoughts on the the dyno #'s. They seem a little high to me he has the stock 243 heads ported and polished, .233 .239 598 608 on a 112 LSA 1 7/8 headers, Vararam. 460 hp seems high I figure 420.

Depends who ported the 243's, if AI or some reputable shop did it, he can easily make 460whp. Either way he still has a huge advantage in weight and you should be worried.

Here is a dyno of AI 243 heads on a 03 z06 with 232/240 cam.

You think a 75 to 100 shot of good ole n2o would take care of it?

That would certainly be the equalizer!

My old c5z had stock heads/intake and a little custom 226/226 cam and longtubes. Made 414rwhp SAE on a Dynojet and trapped around 120 with heavy wheels and my fatass driving.

I think its going to be tough to keep up.

Yea It has 125mph trap speed in it. 460rwhp and C5Z might have a little more then 125 traps in it.

was thinking the same... i know quite a few c5z's with cam , long tubes, intake and tunes and they are trapping 125-128 going low 11's

Ins't that a 385 or 405 hp at the crank model ? So you mean that vette can get 120 hp from those mods to reach 460whp...Seems high.

And I don't know about the 125mph trap....The 662 hp GT 500 shows 126mph on motortrend...and that's about 100 more whp than that vette roughly...13' GT500 should put down 570whp...I also know the vette is lighter but shouldn't make up for all that
