Awesome to see it moving along man! I'm going to update my progress like you have. Sucks you had to rebuild but at least now you have the peace of mind its done right.
Thanks guys for all the support. It's been an adventure, that's for sure. Should have it Monday it sounds like if the initial test drives go well tomorrow. Ended up having to spend some more money on new lash adjusters, a timing kit and brakes.
Getting regular updates and photos from Dan the Man DeSio and the boys at ProDyno made it easier to live with. Like someone up there said, at least now I know it was done right. The machine shop is one of the best around so I'm feeling pretty good about the success of the build.
I stopped by the shop today and went out on the maiden voyage with the tuner, Dan. He drove out and I drove back...she's going to be a monster. I can't wait until it's broken in and we can see what she makes. It's got a few little things that need to be wrapped up but I should have her back Friday.
Can't wait is an understatement. I went with Borla Stingers and I love the sound. That thing sounded mean and was a blast to drive makin some noise. I won't be able to let the Whipple breathe quite yet...gotta break in nice and easy and then we'll get it on the dyno and tune it and see what she makes. THAT is what I am really excited for.
It's defiantly going to be tough to take it easy for a while during the break in period after all the wait. Glad you got everything worked out and keep us posted.

yeah, driving it on the maiden voyage was still a blast. Those stingers make plenty of noise, just need to stay out of boost. The car wants to jump into boost pretty quick but it's not ready for boost yet.
So I'll have to wait to hear the Whipple scream but I am absolutely looking forward to it. The $12k hole in my pocket will help me maintain discipline.
The break in miles are done and the car is back at the shop getting the last piece of the puzzle, the new return style fuel system. Once that's done I will be heading down to ProDyno for the Dyno tune to see what she makes. A few photos of the new fuel system:
