Pull the oil pan and clean it out first. I was given this tip and man, he was right. Lots of particles and some shavings in there. I used Joe Gibbs Driven BR30 for 400-500 miles and now run their oil for Coyotes, FR50. I was told to take the car out, warm it up and run it from off idle to around 3500 rpms at part throttle a few times and to not bog the engine. Take it home and you are ready to go from there.

If you rings arent seated in the 1st 15 minutes then they will never seat, this isnt the 60's anymore. New honing processes and materials facilitate immediate seating
