Had the pleasure of racing Treynor in his ( wifes ) 458 Challenge at Road Atlanta this past weekend. We qualified front row with him with our Driver Nelson Canache, 2 time Rolex winner. This is the rain battle that ensued!
Fast forward to 17:30 for start of race, pace car exited.
Btw, what are the differences between the 302S and 302R?
I saw bens video on IG, that Ferrari was revving to 9k maybe even passed it!
Tire choice for all Conditions is Hankook RS4, Dry, Wet, Snow or anything else haha!Great video/driving!
Re: tire choice for the wet, what did you go with, or is there a 'series tire'?

Thank you for posting this! That was a hell of a start to race 1. We had the Ferrari on Pilot Sport Cup 2's which are really good for the dry and really ... less good in the wet.
I can't claim credit for the driving in that video however - like Eric, we started the race with our pro driver Mark Hamilton Peters in the seat. Watching those two go at it hammer and tongs was worth the price of admission
Looks like @treynor was mastering the rain line, while Canache was running the dry line.
Dry Line to Dry Line, I think the Ferrari would drive out of your life.
Still, that Mustang sounds amazing, and runs damn good.
Saturday, it was largely down to tires for us. No one had raced a 458 Challenge on DOT tires before, and we were guessing about what to run. Pilot Sport Cup 2's simply did not work well once there was a layer of wet on the track, and the Mustang was catching up in the corners and braking zones and only losing out on the straights. Once the rain really started coming down, it was game over.
Sunday's race was a different story - it was dry the entire day, and we took first place in the race with a 9-second margin of victory over Randy Pobst in a E36/E46 hybrid BMW.
Next time we're bringing proper tires -- probably Bridgestone Potenza RE71Rs, but we'll have a set of the Hankook's too given how well they worked!
Fun times, and awesome driving by Team Mustang.
