I will be getting a bike soon, and this stuff annoys me. We all know those bikers were probably taking up the streets, riding illegally and unsafe, and not being considerate of everyone else on the road who may not have the day off to joy ride with their buddies. That certainly doesn't excuse the driver for also pulling an unsafe and illegal maneuver, but it's just another example of why riding with such large groups is usually a bad idea unless you have a police escort (even then, I still wouldn't do it). I would never ride with any group over 4-5 people, and even that I would rarely ever do.

Was that illegal passing maneuver at the beginning what started it? Or is that just how it was edited to remove whatever the bikers were doing to start it?

that's the main question I have...though ultimately I don't think that warrants the response it got

Illegal passing or not, bikers like to take everything into their own hands and escalate a simple traffic violation into a mob mentality. If you're that pissed about being cut off, take the truck's license plate down, and the helmet cam footage of the violation, and file a report.

the bikers were probably the culprits here. Most of the time they are when they ride in huge groups like this. They try to control the whole road and bully other vehicles. When you start smashing the truck window with your helmet, and there's 100 or so bikes, I'd run anything and everything over that I had to, to get outta dodge and protect myself and family.

Guy in the truck went way too far but groups of motorcycles like that are one of the most annoying things on the road

How ya figure? Only takes a couple seconds for one those idiots to break his window and pull him out and then its over. I probably wouldve mowed down whoever I needed to the minute they started surrounding my truck.

Like someone above said, this is why I never rode in groups. Turns into a stupidity contest.

It's always a group of bikers like this that starts shit like this, blocking all lanes and doing tricks, eventually someone has enough of it and decides they need to get around this non sense even if an illegal pass and now the bikers turns into a mob because in their small little brains they own the road and no one can pass and now that you have they feel the need to kick your car and bash your windows. I don't wish anyone to get hurt in that situation, I just hope the truck would've ran over more bikes.

You bikers in a herd like this do think you own the road, expecting the rest of us to "get out of your way". This incident doesn't surprise me one bit.....

Mobbing a car/truck like that is how you get run over or shot.. and you'll get zero ****ing sympathy from me. If you walk up to my car and try to open the door you'll be looking down the barrel of a gun.

Typical mob mentality it's great when they rule the roost but as soon as someone takes their candy from them they cry like the little bitches they really are.......

FWIW - This happened in Chicagoland in Aurora.

Basically, the other videos show the bikers meeting up and then cruising the streets. They are taking up all lanes, hitting triple digits in traffic, doing wheels and other stunts (Some bikers crash on video) and eventually encounter the truck. He was trying to move over, changed lanes, which apparently pissed off one of the bikers, which then the said biker hit the truck taking off his mirror and then the driver of the truck was punched in the face through the window. He was surrounded and then decided to let it out and get the heck out of dodge.

Both are idiots, truck driver for doing what he did after being provoked, and well, bikers living up to their name of a biker.

This is why I never rode/ride in big groups like this. The bikers get this idea that everyone else should bend to them, but when someone gets in the way they get hostile and confrontational. Because of it the drivers get defensive because there's a bunch of bikers chasing and harassing them and as a rider myself, I can completely understand a single driver pushing back. You try to stop so they can pass but instead they go up to your door and try to open it up to get you out. What else would you do when it's just you vs 50 guys on bikes? Plenty of drivers go overboard and you should never try to run a biker off the road but it is usually the bikers who instigate the most because they think they have some sort of roadway privilege.

There can be what some consider "fearing for your life" but I wonder how the court would see it in the mob biker gang vs single drive in a vehicle or a family in a vehicle

There's a pretty well documented case of an SUV in New York, I believe it was. Where the driver of the SUV had another woman and a child in his vehicle. He ran over a few bikers to get out of the situation exactly like the one on video here. They eventually caught up with him and stabbed him, if I recall. That constitutes life threatening. If it's one bike and the car, different story
