That 7k is a tough bullet to bite for the glide
Tougher bullet to bite is $3k to build it initially and then another $4k + gas driving back and forth across the state to drop it off to be fixed.
I would have a lot more cash in my pocket if I had just sold the 6R swap and bought the glide right off the bat.
You won't regret it, I assure you. 1.8 first for me

We will see. 7s would be nice and it may happen but not with the current available hard parts. 8.4 is a far cry from 7.9 and you'll need a really good front 1/2 to make up that .5. That's where I ran into issues, trying to lean on it down low. It was a 160+ Trans all day but you'll need high 160s and a perfect short track to grab a 7.9.
Just my $.02 of course.
I have no doubt, with time and more development the 6r80 will be a great trans for high HP applications.

Yep.. Mine would straight up shut the throttle body.
I was in a debate to have lund tune the car, either way though I want a true transbrake and the 6r80's will start braking at my power level. So I decided to just go glide.
tb is the 6r80s enemy
they will hold up to ridiculous amounts of power.
they will hold a 2 step no issue.
every trans that has broken with a tb comes in with ballooned drums, etc..
not worth it imo on these transmissions.

Time for some Wizzard machinist to start making some billet Kryptonite parts for the 6R80's! Find parts that broke and re-engineer!
