Dear all

I think this was discussed before, but the "search" does ot work....

I'm going to order a pair of Goodyear Eagle F1 GS D3 for my rear wheels.

As I remember, some of you installed 285/40/17 for the stock 275/40/17 size tires..
Since Goodyear recommends an Approved Rim Width Meas. of 9.5-11" for the 285 (We have 9"), im not sure if this really works well: I live in the Swiss Alps what means extreme hard cornering and I drive frequently to the German Autobahn... (I think you know what THAT means  )

==> What size do you recommend for me: 275 or 285? (For rear)
==> How about the front wheels?

Thanks, Stefan

I hate 285s in the front and rear. I would definately go with the 285s in the rear and I would use 275s up front.

Thanks Mike

Thats what I want to do.
Is there no problem at rear?
How about extreme cornering?

Thanks, Stefan

I haven't had any problems and I drive my car like a nascar. There is a slight rub in the front with 285s. It only happens when you turn the wheel all the way to either side.

Nobody here in my country believes me, its possible to put a 285 on a 9" wheel....
Is it really serious or does it look like an "balloon"?

Do you have any pictures of a 285 on a standard wheel?

For me, this question is very important: I'll have to order this tire from USA: Goodyear does not sell this dimensions im my country! The delivery is more expensive than a tire....

Thanks, Stefan
