Looking for suggestions on the best way to paint 4.6 2v valve covers off a 98 GT. Would like to do a glossy bright white to match my paint when I do the PI swap in the next month or two.

Suggestions on steps to take?

^^^ what they said. Just take your time. I painted mine at the end of summer. Turned out pretty good too. Just make sure you clean them good and use a degreaser paint prep. Painted valve covers add a great touch to the 2V engine bay. Good luck

The prep work is the most important part, so definitely take your time and do it right. Did you consider powder coating?

Do it right once and be done.

If you do the paint job/prep right then there's no reason to believe that they won't last.

Prepping the plastic well and using adhesion promoter will be critical, as will the curing process aftewards.

I did a relatively ok job doing mine, and when I did swap them out years later I decided to try and take off the painjob I did. As I was sanding away I realized how much effort I had to put in and how well the paint was resisting damage.
