I'm taking my 2011 on a bit of a road trip soon. My old 2011 manual got 26+MPG on the same trip. On a similar trip that I have taken twice with my auto 2011 I have only gotten 23 MPG. I am currently rocking a VMP 93 tune.
I can go back to stock or I also have three different American Muscle tunes.

Does anyone have any input on this?

Also, has anyone noticed a difference in MPG when running 87 vs. 93? My old Neon got a few less MPG when running regular.

I drove to FL twice last year in the late summer and early fall. Some 850 miles one way. I was getting around 26-27mpg according to the gauge cluster. Though in the city I get around 17-18mpg in Hampton Roads... which sucks because the traffic here is horrendous. I guess I'm lucky to get even that with my 6M and 3.73's.

I've been averaging about 19-20mpg out of my 6mt and 3.31's on my work commute. I have a lot of stop lights on my route though.

Ironically, my 3.73 equipped '12 is getting better mileage than my 3.31 equipped '11. About 19.0 even in 80/20 city, highway conditions vs about 18.5 in the same conditions for my '11.

The '11 did have some sort of engine problem though, so that may be skewed a little.

From my experience though, the 5.0 likes to sing a bit. Don't lug it and keep it in the 2500 rpm range. I find I get my best mileage there.

i agree. 2500 to 3000 is the mpg spot for sure. anything over 3000 and it drops off quixk though...

Do we know if the '11 and '12 cars have the aggressive deceleration cut-out strategy that the '13's have?

If that's the case, costing off throttle in gear would provide better fuel mileage than costing in neutral.

I don't know cause when I coast a decent distance my mileage usually goes up a tenth or two.

Im pretty sure you would get better mpg cruising at 2k vs 2.5 or 3k

For example, I can get roughly 32mpg in 6th on the hwy if I set the cruise at 58. (around 17 miles on hwy) Thats about 1700rpm if I recall. step it up to 2k rpm, and im down in the 24-25.

However, I dont do that because the motor is extremely overloaded on any sort of acceleration with CC on. Plus I like to drive 80 lol.
