This isn't my car but my friend has a 99GT and he has found out that his header gasket is bad and it's leaking. my questions is he was quoated 700+dollars to fix this from a shop in springfield VA, they said they have to remove the k-member, is this a fair price? how difficult would this be too fix in a garage. anybody ever do this on a GT? thanks.

I would say 700 is high. shops usually charge about 500 to do headers on our cars and I would think the 99's are about the same. I don't doubt they have to drop the k-member though.
