My buddy has a cobra with the tick and bought a pully and was going to have it tuned.. is the tick that big of a deal?? other then it just being a annoying sound?? he also doesnt have any plans of replacing the heads either should he avoid modding it or what??

click the search button, you'll find a LOT of threads titled "Head Tick". It's been proved to be harmless, but just "Annoying". Go ahead, mod away.

It's one annoying sound if abnormal sounds bother you. I personally would not be able to live with it, but others can. Here's some more basic info on the tick issue if you're interested.
