I put the Metco 2lb lower on with a 3.00" upper and expected to get approx. 19lb boost (about what I was running before the switch). However the new boost guage is pegging at 25lb boost!!! What am I missing?

25lbs?

I only know of one other person who was seeing more boost than he was supposed to with the KB. I'm actually seeing a little less than my pulley combo is supposed to make. :??:

Hi Tracy,

That is what I thought too. The guage install is too simple to mess up (I think?). Could it be a poorly calibrated guage? It shows about 5lb. vacuum at idle. I am going to measure the lower pully diameter to make sure it is the right one.

Is that a typo ? Did you mean 5 lbs? Or 5 in hg (inches of mercury) either way I am showing 20 in hg at idle.

i only saw 20# with a 6# lower & 17# upper...
the belt might have been slipping a little -- maybe a good thing!
www.kennebell.net states that a 17# upper & 9" lower (6#) will yield 21# ... that's most likely what i saw.

3" upper is 17#
i think a 6# lower would measure 9" accross

i think something is off here, cuz i think you are exactly right... 25# is unlikely

What Autometer gage are you using? A mechanical or a electrical Vac/Boost gage? The max pressure on the gage is 20psi or 30psi, not 25psi I beleive.

your should be reading somewhere around 18-20hg at idle. You either have a bad vacuum leak or your gauge is royaly screwed. It's probably the second one.
