Sorry to hear about your planned venue being cancelled. Do you have another one coming up on the calendar?

Not so far, local SCCA chapter is still spooling up post COVID, re-establishing old relationships with respect to venues, hopefully soon…

@bubblehead93, just a heads up. Most of your signature text is a lightish yellow that is basically impossible to read on the default white background. You might want to use the same gray as the lower text.

I thought the default was the black/red. That's what I've always had anyway. I never changed it at any point.

Bubblehead, I'm sure you'll be out thrashing that beast sooner than later at this point. That really sucks though.

I'd pull the steering rack boots and install some limiters to be safe. I put 3 on each side (knowing i would be ok with 2) and only plan to run a 10in front wheel with a 285/295.

Also, give your power steering system a flush and good inspection.....its going to be getting a workout with that much tire up front. I converted everything over -6AN line including the hydroboost.
What is your plan to run 10in front wheels?

I am trying to figure out a square setup for my car and was settled on a 9.5 inch setup until I started taking some measurements and looking at different offsets.

I wonder if a 10 inch square setup could be made to work with the right offset and some minor pulling of the fenders.

Thoughts or insight?

Well I have just shy of 7 inches of backspacing from the edge of the hub's wheel mounting surface to the coilover spring with an 18in wheel. So I went with an 18x10 wheel with +15 offset and 6.1in of backspacing, with the idea that a 285/295 tire will bulge another 0.5inches beyond the rim.....that puts me pretty close to the minimum required 0.5 inches remaining you want for clearance for sidewall flex. That's the best estimate I could make to get the wheel furthest inward while still having the clearance to the spring. If I need to space it out, I should be able to do so with a very small spacer, like a 1/8th hopefully.

My front fenders are already rolled and off the car but I may need to have them pulled as well. With -2.5 to -3 degrees camber, I will have to see how much a 285/295 tire will tuck inside the fender.....I don't expect to require flares or wide fenders like the OP, but I also don't mind a slight poke if that's the case. Like the OP, i'm running 400 pound front springs, but i'm also on an aluminum engine block and completely stripped out interior so I should hopefully have enough spring rate to keep the front end contacting the tire should it not fully tuck into the fender....will have to play around with ride heights and the overall setup to see what's what.

Once I have the wheels in hand, I will mock them up to check clearances and may take some pics to share.

This was my thinking on this as well. I did however want to still cut them the was he did just maybe a bit less.
Playing with offset may be the best plan for doing that.

I'll be very interested in your findings when you mock everything up.

Today I tried one of my 18x10 rear FR500s on the front. They have roughly a 6.5 inch backspace and I had to use about a 1/4 worth of washers to get the spokes to clear my ATS calipers.

I have OLD 285-35 Nitto NT555s them and the tire poked about 1/2 inch outside the fender and I had just about 1/2 inch of clearance between the tire and the coilover spring.

It's also important to note that this was done with the suspension unloaded (cars stuck on jack stands) and unknown suspension settings. The spindles are set full negative and my CC plates are mid travel.

Looking at everything I think in order to pull this off a rim with about 6.5-6.75 inch backspacing is needed and possibly small spacers added to get any additional suspension clearance.

From there some rolling and pulling of the fenders will be needed as well.

Finally got my Weld S71's and was able to mock up the fronts. Got these brand new 50% off from summit through their price match program so pretty stoked about that.

Specs:
S71's High pad front and rear
18x10 +15 front
18x11.5 + 22 rear

The front's clear my WIlwood 6 piston caliper with plenty of room to spare. Here's how the wheel sits next to my coilover which is about what I expected. I have MM struts as well with the top hole slotted where it mounts to the spindle, thus allowing me to pull the spindle further away from the strut. This gives me about another half inch of clearance. This obviously increases positive camber which you'll need to compensate for by adjustment of the CC plates.

This is with the car on jack stands and the coils completely uncompressed.....i'm on 10in front springs and my hope is that once full weighted, the spring will sit entirely above the wheel/tire and have plenty of clearance against the strut body.....if it doesn't I might have to swap in a set of 8in springs to accomplish that. In the meantime, I don't mind throwing on a 1/4 spacer.

My intention is to run a 295 width tire on the front. I've also installed 3 steering rack "limiters" on each inner tie rod to make sure I don't have any issues.

The rear has a 99-04 solid axle swap so I should have tons of clearance there.....will be a on a 335/345 out back.
